Workshop: Fabric Scrap Art
Use your itty bitty fabric scraps and a sewing machine to create new panels of fun, decorative fabric that you can use to make bags, trivets, and more. Some basic experience with a sewing machine is helpful, but sewing beginners are welcome. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own scraps!
Soldering 101: Electrical Connections
Come learn the basics of how to make electrical connections, and how to solder! Electrical soldering is a crucial skill for repairing electrical components and can save you money and help keep e-waste out of landfills. We will cover safety, electricity basics, supplies, and best practices. All materials will be provided.
Workshop: Crochet Fabric Scrap Rugs
Discover how to transform old clothing and textiles into a one-of-a-kind scrap rug using cotton yarn and a crochet hook. In this two-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to make fabric yarn from secondhand materials and how to crochet around the fabric to bind it into a sturdy, finished rug. Bring your own textiles or select from our provided materials. Beginner crochet experience is helpful, but not required.
Plastic Detox Documentary Screening + Panel Discussion

Join us at The Reuse Hub on June 27th at 5pm for a free screening of “The Plastic Detox” a new documentary that explains what microplastics and their chemicals are doing to our health + how we can take matters into our own hands.
Stay afterwards and get all your questions answered by the expert panel: Miriam Gordon (Story of Stuff), Laurel Standley (Environmental Chemist and Author) and Phoebe Schenker (Executive Director of The Reuse Alliance).
Bike Repair 101: Brakes, Drivetrain, & Shifting
Come learn how to troubleshoot, adjust, repair and maintain bikes. We’ll cover basic mechanical techniques, wheels & tires, drivetrain, brakes and how it all works together. This workshop is for beginners, all you need is confidence and a little mechanical aptitude. We’ll provide tools, supplies and a lab bike we’ll work on.
This session will cover brakes, and drivetrain & shifting service.
This session will cover general mechanical techniques and concepts, frame and cockpit, tires and wheels.
Workshop: Trash Printmaking
Learn the basics of printmaking using repurposed everyday materials and trash! In this 2 hour workshop, we will explore the fundamentals of monotype and relief printmaking and demonstrate how these techniques can easily be achieved at home with found materials. Participants will have access to a variety of supplies to create a Mother’s Day card or any other design they’d like to print.

Workshop: Upcycled Fabric Beadmaking
Learn to make creative beads out of old papers and fabric scraps! Beads can be used for jewelry, embellishing clothing, and more. Learn the technique of creating a wrapped bead out of almost anything, no experience required. All materials provided, but feel free to bring your own fabric and paper scraps to experiment with!

Workshop: Intro to English Paper Piecing with Scrap Fabric
Learn to transform small scraps of cloth into beautiful and useful pieced fabric in this beginner oriented 2 hour class. We'll cover what kinds of repurposed fabric work best for English Paper Piecing, how to prepare hexagonal paper templates and use them with our fabric scraps, and how to hand sew those hexagons together. Supplies will be provided, but if you have fabric scraps you want to use you're welcome to bring them.

Workshop: Basics of Mending and Patching by Hand
This is an introductory class on the basics of clothing repair, focusing on non-stretch woven fabrics. We will go over selection of materials, hand sewing techniques, and multiple ways to sew a patch with a decorative flair. No prior sewing experience necessary! Participants are welcome to bring a damaged garment to work on, but samples and fabric to work with will also be provided.

Workshop: Weaving with Fabric Scraps
Come learn the basics of weaving on a simple loom made from upcycled retail signage! You’ll learn how to set up your loom, how to cut continuous strips from fabric scraps of any size or shape, and the basics of how to weave! All materials are included and you'll will get to take your loom and project home with you.

Create something beautiful from old t-shirts using reverse appliqué, a sewing technique where multiple layers of fabric are sewn together, and the top layer is cut away to reveal the fabric underneath. Using only hand sewing techniques we will learn how to plan and stitch reverse appliqué designs while making a small coaster to take home. This class is suitable for sewing beginners. Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring two contrasting -shirts to cut up.

It's Not Trash: Reclaiming and Transforming
Presented in partnership with the Petaluma Arts Center and Recology San Francisco and Santa Rosa, It’s Not Trash: Reclaiming and Transforming honors artists who repurpose discarded materials to create work centered on sustainability, storytelling, and community restoration.
Bookbinding 101: Hardbound Book
In this two-day workshop, you will learn how to make your own journals, sketchbooks, or scrapbooks. You will learn the most versatile method of traditional sewn binding of multi-signature books with hard cover and spine, called “case bound”. Understanding book structure will give you the skills to repair any hardcover book. You can bring in books that need repair for analysis and we’ll discuss how to mend paperbacks, prepare fabric for book covering, and more. You will complete one small finished book.
*Note: Class run time is 1-5pm on Sat, 1-3pm on Sun.*
Participants will get an email with a required materials list.
Reuse Bazaar

Come learn the basics of lamp repair! We will cover safety and how to disassemble and reassemble (repair) a standard table or floor lamp with a standard size bulb, including troubleshooting the most common lamp issues. An example lamp will be provided, but if you have a broken lamp, bring it to work on! All other needed materials will also be provided.

This is a creative social gathering in which to design your own project with facilitator support. Base cars and all additional modding materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any special materials you wish to include in your creations.
